Shonen Knife plan new album and UK tour

Shonen Knife have begun recording sessions for a new album, while also announcing a 21 date UK and Irish tour to mark their 35th anniversary.

The album sessions, which are taking place in their home city of Osaka, feature the return of original drummer Atsuko on bass guitar. She joins Naoko (vocals, guitar) and Risa (drums, vocals) for the new release, which is scheduled for late March.

The band have also announced that previous SK members Naru (bass) and Ritsuko (bass, guitar) will remain members of the SK family and will continue to participate when their schedules allow.
